"Be careful or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation (wasteful expenditure, intemperate living, excessive drinking, amusement, diversions) drunkenness or the anxieties of life (painful or apprehensive uneasiness of mind over an impending illness or fearful concern or interest) and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon ALL those who live on the face of the earth." Luke 21:34-34
I do "coffee cup counseling" with Mercy Matters. I lead or participate in 5 groups of ladies who meet each week to encourage each other, support each other and to remind each other of how much God loves us and who we are in Christ.
ALL our hearts get weighed down at some time if we live on the face of the earth, with financial problems, amusement/recreation, fear, concerns, conflicts, and our apprehension to cope.
When we get into the Word we discover Jesus already knew these things and He gives us encouragement and endurance for hope. (Rom 15:4) He gives us the answer so that we are able to cope and to live a life pleasing to Him. He shared the love of His Father during the day and spent time with His Father each night.
Is your heart weighed down? Let me encourage you to find a friend to share a "cup of coffee" with, get into the Word and encourage each other with God's great love for us.
